Sometimes at the end of 1975…
One day, early in the morning, I was going out for my daily services when the postman arrived and gave me a letter. It was a strange envelop, not an italian type, so while signing I looked and saw “A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami”, from Bombay. You can only imagine, or maybe you cannot, my exitement. I am personally getting a letter from Srila Prabhupada. I was in ecstasy.
At that time I was the tresaurer and manager of the temple, so I was supposed to receive and read the letters. I opened it and I saw it was a hand-signed letter from His Divine Grace accepting six new disciples and also announcing that our temple president, who was in India, would not come back.
The previous president wasn’t someone who would keep thinks safe and in order, but the new one was even worse. So one day I decided to take the two letters “stored in the archive” and put them in a safe place.
After 37 years I still have them.
