Dear Guru Maharaja,
Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to you and Srila Prabhupada.
There is a chapter in the 11th canto of S.B. entitled “Jnana Yoga”. I just read this chapter.
But in the Bhagavad-Gita it talks about jnana yoga as an inferior method of yoga. It says that jnana yoga is based on speculative knowledge I believe.
So what is the difference between the jnana yoga mentioned in Bhagavad Gita and jnana yoga mentioned in the chapter in S.B.? Or is it the same thing? Thank you.
Dear Bhakta Richard,
Receive my blessings. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.
There are two types of Jnana-yoga: the first is based on personal mental speculation, the second on the study of holy bonafide scriptures and authorities.
So although the name is the same, the difference is quite big.
